The project
Ug and Oot are searching for a better cave. Their prehistoric real-estate agent has options; unfortunately, every property is worse than the last.
The approach
We carried the production into Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park to build a believable world from available landscapes and a student budget. In post, repeated revisions with editor Tyson Di Rosa taught me how dramatically a pause can change a joke.
What remained
It is an early film, and that is part of why it belongs here: it marks the point where directing, writing and editing began to feel like interconnected parts of the same process.
