The project

Lilies & Dust invited people into a mysterious escape room where they had to save a cat from the underworld. The teaser needed to suggest that story without explaining away its strangeness.

The approach

A short schedule and bright Sydney sun initially seemed opposed to the dark, otherworldly mood. Instead, the constraints became the visual language: a blown-out shaft of light became the reveal, while dust lifted directly from the room created a practical particle effect in camera.

What remained

The result is tactile and deliberately incomplete, a glimpse of a world that asks the audience to step inside and finish the story themselves.
